Susi Allten

The Susi Allten Cancer Survivorship Fund was the impetus of the Seabreeze UCC Cancer Hope and Healing Program.  Donations to this fund are used to provide honorariums for educational speakers and support group facilitators, supplies for support group projects, snacks for support group meetings, educational booklets, and supplies for volunteers to make wraps, chemo hats, quilts and port protectors for cancer patients.

Since her original breast cancer diagnosis 20 years ago, Susi has "paid it forward" by making hundreds of hats, wraps, quilts and port protectors for the cancer patients of Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA, Dempsey Center for Hope and Healing in Lewiston, Maine and the FHMMC Cancer Institute in Daytona Beach.  Patients feel the love and creativity that Susi has put into making all of these comforting and beautiful handmade creations.

Susi and her sister-in-law Sandy have dreamed of building a survivorship program together for the longest time, and it is now a reality at Seabreeze UCC (as part of Seabreeze UCC missional outreach to the cancer community).

We will continue Susi's work of spreading love, cheer and comfort to cancer survivors and their families.  We honor her dreams and goals to provide a happy, safe, nurturing survivorship center in a peaceful, beautiful setting.
